My Story
Like many artists, I was born this way. Always drawing, painting, creating in some way. Couldn't be stopped! Primarily self-taught, I have worked in a variety of mediums: acrylics, mosaics, cement, fiber, paper pulp, clay, wood and mixed media. Creating sculpture is now my main focus. A sampling of my previous work is archived below.
Since retirement I am lucky to be on my artist path full time. For over 35 years I was a martial artist and taught with my partner in our dojo, SafeSkills. I feel like we impacted so many lives teaching self-defense and martial arts. It was our life's work in which we achieved our feminist vision of empowering woman and girls. Now I'm turning that energy toward art.
My art studio is at our home on a 10 acre property outside of Hillsborough, NC. This peaceful sanctuary is graced with winding trails, garden art and a rock-lined walking 7 circuit labyrinth.
